Being a work at home mom with a baby is no easy task. If being a full-time mom is hard, adding a full-time job on top of it is basically working double shifts. It can be overwhelming at times to say the least. Getting through your work may take longer some days depending on your baby’s mood. While there aren’t that many “mom hacks” to get you straight through your full hours of work, there are gadgets and accessories that you can take advantage of that can help when you need some extra help.

Work at Home Mom With Baby Carrier

It’s amazing how a simple baby carrier can make a world of difference when you need an extra set of hands. Ergobaby’s best carriers allow you to safely keep baby close and in front of you while also keeping your  hands free to take care of other tasks. Babies, for the most part, really enjoy lying on their mom’s chest. Baby carriers allow you to keep your baby close so you can focus on that Zoom meeting while typing away and taking notes.

Hands-Free Breast Pump

The ability to complete two tasks at once is crucial as a work at home mom with a baby. Investing in a hands-free breast pump may save you some time so you can wrap up that report while you pump baby’s next meal. After all, so much of motherhood is a balancing act of multitasking. Depending on your preference, some styles of hands-free pumps that allow you to pump underneath your clothes. Other pumps, such as the Medela Freestyle Flex, require a bra tailored to the suction cups. This style doesn’t allow you to pump underneath your clothes but since you’ll be at home it may not be a deal breaker for you.

Hands-Free Baby Bottle

Speaking of hands-free pumping, how about a hands-free bottle so that you can watch your baby feed themselves as you keep typing away at that spreadsheet. Podee is a hands-free baby bottle, which also prevents gas and colic as your baby chugs their milk or formula. It’s basically a binky with a tube that connects to a standard baby bottle. Once your baby can sit in an upright position, you can set the BPA-free bottle next to them and they can fully feed themselves by simply sucking on it like they would a pacifier. Once they are done, you may just have to take care of the burping.

Baby Bouncer

As much as babies love their sleep, they also love their play time. Bouncers are a great way to give babies a little bit of exercise at times when they seem most active. Bouncers such as the Jolly Jumper help babies improve their balance, develop their coordination, and strengthen their leg muscles — which they’ll need when they get ready to walk. The bouncer’s designsecures your baby’s spine in place for proper posture so they can keep bouncing while you work away.

Pack n Play

There will be times when your baby doesn’t want to be held and doesn’t want to bounce. He or she maysimply want to crawl around a little bit and play with a teether. If your home office is safe to let your baby crawl, then by all means let your baby do their thing while keeping an eye on them at all times. However, if you’re not able to focus on work and your baby, then you may want to take out your Pack n Play. This way you know your baby has four barriers that they can’t escape from and they can’t get into anything that can be hazardous to them. With a Pack n Play, you can keep them next to you, hands and worry-free.

With more working moms working at home with their babies, who knows what the next invention will be. Keep a lookout for any other gadgets and accessories that you may need to make your working life easier. Some items may be pricey but worth every penny.
